The institute is founded by three main research areas, which focus on the work and well-being in the intelligent building, the sensor data fusion in the intelligent building as well as the dynamic escape routing. These three projects are funded by the Ministerium für Innovation, Wissenschaft und Forschung des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen. Furthermore, another research group is working on various projects in the field of digital media and human-computer-interaction in the intelligent building.
